The Gaels are undefeated at Richardson Stadium this season.

After winning their fourth straight game and remaining undefeated at Richardson Stadium, the Gaels triumphed over the Guelph Gryphons with a score of 24-18 on Sept. 21.

This win propels Queen’s into third place, just behind the undefeated Windsor Lancers and Laurier Golden Hawks, whom they’ll face on Oct. 5.

Quarterback Alex Vreeken, Kin ’25, connected with receiver Nathan Falconi, ArtSci ’25 from the get-go, scoring a 21-yard ing touchdown.

With the Gryphons swiftly tying the game up before the end of the first quarter, the Gaels retook the lead at the beginning of the second quarter, with backup quarterback Anthony Lio, Kin ’27, rushing for a two-yard touchdown.

Just before time expired in the first half, Vreeken and Falconi were able to connect once again, scoring on a massive 41-yard ing touchdown and extending the Gaels lead to 21-10.

The Gaels capped off their scoring with a 23-yard field goal from Tyler Mullan, ArtSci ’26, who successfully converted all extra-point attempts, totaling six points for the Gaels’ ace kicker.

In what has already been a historic season for the Gaels, Iain St. Arnault, ArtSci ’27 ed Queen’s alumni Jimmy Allin, ArtSci ’10 for the most single-season punt return yards. Allin’s record stood at 638 yards for nearly 15 years.

While it wasn’t the highest-scoring game we’ve seen from the Gaels this season, Queen’s was able to shut the door on the Gryphons, with Liam Sutherland, ArtSci ’25, and Justin Pace, ArtSci ’26 both recording interceptions in the fourth quarter.

With their win against the Gryphons, the Gaels climbed to third place in the OUA and to seventh place nationally. On Sept. 28, they will defend their ranking against the 3-1 Mustangs in London, vying for third place.
