Queen’s announced the ranking on Feb. 12.

The Financial Times Global MBA ranking put the Smith School of Business’ MBA in the top spot in Canada, and 62nd globally.

Rankings were decided based on graduates’ career progression, a program assessment—including value for money—a diversity assessment of students and faculty, faculty expertise, and international opportunities. Universities and three classes of alumni are surveyed to determine the ranking.

Smith took the number one spot for both its career services and alumni network. Graduates of the MBA program saw a 108 per cent salary increase with 96 per cent being employed three months post-graduation, according to a press release.

“Ranking first in career services in Canada for the fourth year in a row reflects the school’s dedication to deliver an outstanding learning experience for our students resulting in exceptional career outcomes,” Karen Jackson-Cox, executive director of Smith’s Career Advancement Centre, said in a press release.

Earning global best was the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, with graduates earning $245,772 USD on average upon graduation.
