Downtown Kingston’s tight knit community may contribute to a common myth which suggests that businesses have a high turnover rate. But according to owners, this may not necessarily be true as business turnover downtown is just a microcosm of the situation in larger retail areas.
Last spring, the University hired a new position to look into the potential of expanding experiential learning for Queen’s students. According to Career Services, the program is still in its research stage and has yet to develop any firm plans.
Five years ago, an external review found that Queen’s campus was overcrowded by independent food operators. Currently, there’s been no official rule established, but the University has adopted a practice where these outlets are now disallowed from opening.
