The AMS was ed by Principal Patrick Deane at a special meeting of its Assembly last Thursday to learn more about The Conversation and the semester ahead.

The Office of the Rector Equity Partnership Grant has been distributed to three equity groups on campus.

AMS Assembly gathered Friday over Zoom to discuss club fees, University operations, and its affiliation with the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA).Matthew Melon, commissioner of external affairs, presented the findings of the Special Committee on External Alignment, the committee struck to analyze the AMS’ hip with OUSA. OUSA is the organization that represents Ontario’s 150,000 students to the Province.

Students can expect to see a proposed ASUS fee increase on their referendum ticket this coming February.

The AMS has readjusted certain student ancillary fees to reflect service operations during the ongoing pandemic.

Candidates for the Engineering Society’s (EngSoc) Vice-President (Operations) and Junior Senator positions went head-to-head in a debate hosted Tuesday night on Zoom.

Two candidates are competing for the position of Junior Senator in the Engineering Society (EngSoc) for the 2020-21 year.

Both Salma Ibrahim, Sci ’22, and Benjamin Frosst, Sci ’22, have entered the EngSoc election for Vice-President (Operations) with extensive experience in the Society’s financial operations.

Sunday’s Residence Society (ResSoc) presidential debate, held on Zoom, saw both presidential candidates speak to the future of residence during COVID-19.

The Arts and Science Undergraduate Society (ASUS) has issued a call for discussion of the BIPOC student experience at Queen’s, both on and off-campus. These conversations will be facilitated in Equity Focus Groups­—BIPOC-only spaces which will be used to inform policy, advocacy, and resources.

As COVID-19 continues to limit public gatherings, the Engineering Society announced Clark Hall Pub will remain closed for the 2020-21 school year.
