The Computing Science Association (COMPSA) hosted an open forum for Presidential candidate Danielle Edward (Comp ’21) and Vice-President (Student Affairs) candidate Flora Lin (Comp ’22) at Goodwin Hall on Jan. 30. 

Undergraduate Trustee Tyler Macintyre apologized Monday for attending a Coronavirus-themed party on Saturday night, where students wore surgical masks, drank Corona beers, and decorated the walls with biohazard symbols.

The uncontested candidates up for the two executive roles in the Computing Science Association (COMPSA) sat down with The Journal to discuss their goals for the Society. 

As voting closed Wednesday night, 28.3 per cent of AMS voted to elect next year’s undergraduate student leaders.

ASUS executive candidates faced off in an open debate on Thursday for their final discussion ahead of elections on Jan. 28 and 29. 

Team OJJ was elected as the Residence Society executive with 88 per cent of the vote on Thursday night. 

On Wednesday night in the ILC atrium, next year’s Engineering Society hopefuls fielded questions from the student body about managing heavy workloads and the potential return of the Student Choice Initiative.  

This year’s Commerce Society election will see Team MKV run uncontested for the executive positions. 

This week, candidates running to be the next executive of the Society of Graduate and Professional Students (SGPS) sat down with The Journal. Here’s what they had to say: 

Team AJA has released a precursor to their platform, outlining their platform points, to kick off the campaign period on Jan. 20.

The AMS executive election will be uncontested for the third consecutive year. 

Rector candidate Sam Hiemstra, ArtSci ’21, is the sole person vying for the position this year. It’s the first time in at least 20 years the position hasn’t been contested. 

ASUS presidential candidate David Niddam-Dent, ArtSci ’22, and vice-presidential candidate Matt D’Alessandro, ArtSci ’22, hope to win leadership of Queen’s largest faculty Society by “bringing ASUS” to students. 

For Team Chris and Taylor, the biggest focus of their campaign in this year’s ASUS Executive election is to increase efficiency and transparency in the Society. 

Together, Presidential candidate Oliver Flis, Vice-Presidential (Residential Affairs) candidate Julia Guest, and Vice-Presidential (Judicial Affairs) candidate Julie Ro form Team OJJ. Uncontested, the three presented at an open forum in the basement of Victoria Hall on Sunday night.
