Men’s basketball completes upset over UOttawa, loses to Carleton

Over the weekend, the men’s basketball team (11-10) beat the UOttawa Gee-Gee’s (13-8) 78-75 in overtime and fell to the Carleton Ravens (20-1) 81-61 in their final home regular season games.

Women’s basketball clinch playoff berth

In their lone weekend game on Friday, the women’s basketball team (12-7) clinched a playoff spot with an 80-64 win over the York Lions (8-11).
This Friday, the men’s basketball team (10-9) played their only game of the weekend against the York Lions (6-13), landing a comfortable 111-71 victory at home.
On Saturday night, Marianne Alarie pushed her way into Laurentian’s zone and dropped in an easy teardrop layup. 
Over the weekend, the men’s basketball team (9-9) pulled together one hard-fought 84-75 overtime win against the Nipissing Lakers and suffered an 85-72 loss to the Laurentian Voyageurs. 
After posting two consecutive blowouts against the Nipissing Lakers and Laurentian Voyageurs—beating the former 95-69 and the latter 72-46—over the weekend, the women’s basketball team (11-7) is a contender come playoff time in February.
