Arhen’s actualization

The Ben Arhen who arrived at football training camp in 2016 isn’t very different from the Ben Arhen you see today, making highlight catches at every stadium across the province. He’s got the same speed, the same vibrant personality, and the same drive.

Snyder takes the reins

September 5, 2019
For a native of London, Ontario native, former Mustangs Offensive Coordinator and freshly-minted Gaels Head Coach Steve Snyder’s philosophy is distinctly Queen’s.
For the eighth time in a row, Queen’s fell to the Mustangs. Their 40-23 loss drops the Gaels to 0-2 on the season, with a challenging matchup against Ottawa on the horizon.
For most graduating varsity athletes, this time of year is often spent preparing for life without their sport of choice. But for some, it’s spent preparing for a career as a professional athlete.
There’s a new face for the future of football at Queen’s—and it’s female.
Queen’s football made a new addition to their coaching staff last Thursday, naming Tom Flaxman the team’s new offensive coordinator.
Steve Snyder’s had his eye on Ethan Martin since 1999.
On Tuesday afternoon, Queen’s football got their first look at the Gaels’ new sideline boss.
On Dec. 16, Athletics and Recreation (A&R) announced that Steve Snyder will take over as head coach of Queen’s football in the 2019-20 season.
On Tuesday, Queen’s Athletics and Recreation (A&R) announced football Head Coach Pat Sheahan had left the program after 19 years with the team. In a press conference at the Alumni Lounge on Thursday afternoon, Sheahan told reporters he “never quit anything in his life” and the program is experiencing a “generational change.”

Coaches rarely utter the phrase, “Winning is everything.”
Headed into their second-last game of the season, the football team is grappling to find routine amidst a week many would call chaotic.
Ahead of the football team’s Saturday game against the Western Mustangs, head coach Pat Sheahan wasn’t expecting a win.
As Guelph’s kicker stepped on the field to attempt a game-winning 32-yard field goal, Queen’s running back Jake Puskas could hardly watch.
This week, Queen’s football took inspiration from an unlikely source: Kobe Bryant.
