The Queen’s rowing team and University were deeply saddened to learn of Ilse Loomer-Scott’s untimely ing on July 15 while surfing in Tofino, B.C. 
In Gavin Stone’s average day, few hours go wasted. 
Although both the women’s rugby and soccer teams’ seasons have been cancelled due to the coronavirus, Queen’s has lots to look forward to when they return. 
Malcolm Shields faced a difficult decision on whether or not to attend Queen’s when all fall sports were cancelled in early June.

Queen’s announced on May 14 that Claire Meadows (B.PhE ‘07) will take up the position of women’s basketball head coach starting in 2021. 
U Sports, along with Ontario University Athletics (OUA), Canada West (CW), and Atlantic University Sports (AUS) confirmed that all fall sporting competitions will be cancelled in 2020.

More bad news was dealt to the cross country team at the end of April when top recruit Mackenzie Campbell announced she will run at the University of British Columbia (UBC) next year.
Electronic sports—otherwise known as eSports—are among the lesser talked about sports on campus. That’s not to say they’re any less competitive than a varsity basketball or football team.

For his dominance, versatility, and leadership on the pitch, Queen’s scrum half Dylan Young is The Journal’s Male Athlete of the Year.

The Varsity Leadership Council (VLC) is a student-run organization that speaks on behalf of Queen’s varsity athletes and runs initiatives throughout the year to connect Queen’s athletes with the Kingston community.
The disinfectant on the handles didn’t do anything to throw off Queen’s curlers, as the women came through in the clutch to snatch the U SPORTS bronze from McMaster.
