The men’s soccer team lost a heartbreaker last Wednesday to the Ontario Tech University Ridgebacks by a final score of 1-0.
The women’s soccer team had an unforgettable undefeated regular season, but the playoffs were another story. The University of Toronto Varsity Blues defeated the Gaels 3-0 in the quarterfinals.
The women’s rugby program delivered on the promise of their undefeated regular season with a dominant championship performance, besting the Guelph Gryphons 46-17.
Queen’s alumni were out in full force as the Gaels took a well-earned 23-2 win over the York Lions this Homecoming weekend.
In the spirit of Homecoming, the men’s rugby team enjoyed a 62-7 romp over the Trent Excalibur on Saturday afternoon.
The ARC played host to basketball teams from all across the country.
With their win over the Brock Badgers, the Queen’s Gaels will play the Guelph Gryphons at home on Friday, Oct. 18 for the OUA Championship Title.
Last Thursday, the Gaels took on the Guelph Gryphons, who were ranked fifth in the country ahead of the nighttime matchup. The Gaels lost a heartbreaker to the Gryphons in overtime, 27-24.
The Gaels raced in Montreal, Quebec at the annual RSEQ/AUS Interlock meet, where they reaffirmed their top spot in the national rankings.

Sports in brief: week 7

The women’s soccer team, men’s rugby team, and men’s soccer team each faced off against their RMC counterparts and came away with solid victories.
Whether you’re talking about school spirit or pure celebratory ecstasy, Homecoming (Hoco) is one of the most important dates of the year for the Queen’s community. This year’s iteration, to be held on Oct. 19, is hoping to strikea balance between the two.
Sitting with a record of 2-4, the Gaels are irers when looking at the playoff picture.
On the final weekend of September, the women’s soccer team raised more than $4,500 for the fight against breast cancer through the “Play for the Cure” fundraiser.

Queen’s men’s rugby and football do great charity work, women’s soccer is closing in on an undefeated regular season, men’s soccer struggles down the stretch.
Last year set the expectations high for Queen’s cross country program. After outstanding races in London, Ontario and Pennsylvania, they might be even higher.
Offensive Coordinator Tom Flaxman and Head Coach Steve Snyder have a great problem. A problem, surely, but as good as they come.
Queen’s athletes have always prided themselves on doing great work on and off the field, whether in the classroom or community. Now, they have an organization to help concentrate their charitable efforts.
The Gaels travelled to Waterloo to challenge the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks on a dreary Saturday afternoon.
