Danny Saposnik, ArtSci ’07, officially resigned from his position as AMS communications officer last Saturday.

“In the end it was a matter of whether it was worth staying a fifth year [at Queen’s],” Saposnik said. “It’s just a moving-on kind of thing.”

He added he still has a great relationship with the AMS.

“If they need any help from me, I also offered to advise them,” he said.

Last year, Saposnik was deputy prosecutor for the AMS Prosecutor’s Office. In January, he became chief prosecutor after Ethan Rabidoux, who formerly held the position, was elected AMS president.

Jenn Hirano, AMS VP (operations), said Saposnik’s resignation was effective Sept. 11.

“He had given us two weeks notice and his last day was the Saturday of [Orientation] Week,” she said.

The communications officer reports to the AMS president, and is responsible for press releases, image co-ordination, public and media relations and advertising.

The AMS has re-opened the position.

Hirano said any student can apply, provided they are an AMS member, have paid their full slate of AMS fees and are in good academic standing.

Two-thirds of the position’s $13,540 salary remains.
