Cynthia Gibney, health and wellness director at Western, to oversee Student Wellness Services

Cynthia Gibney to take over as Executive Director of Student Wellness Services in March.

The University has hired a new executive director of Student Wellness Services, Cynthia Gibney, who will assume the position on March 2.

Gibney replaces Jennifer Dods, who took over the position in 2016. She will come to Queen’s from the University of Western Ontario, where she currently serves as the health and wellness director.

In her role at Western, Gibney integrated health and counselling services into one unit and installed new technologies, including an online booking system, to increase access to care.

Gibney, who’s a ed nurse with a BScN from the University of Windsor oversaw the introduction of an after-hours mental health clinic at Western in 2017. She was previously an adjunct professor in Western’s School of Nursing.
