Queen’s students talk environment in Japan
Two Queen’s students will attend The Japan-Canada Academic Consortium (JACAC) Forum at Meiji University in Tokyo, Japan from Feb. 14 to 22.
Abby Dacho, Sci ’10, and Mark Ouseley, ArtSci ’10 competed in a national competition to represent Queen’s at the conference.
They will undergraduate students, graduate students and Canadian and Japanese researchers.
This year’s theme will be “The Environment and Sustainable Innovation,” which will be examined from political science, cultural studies, anthropology and more traditional scientific perspectives.
After a Canada-Japan University Rectors Roundtable at York University in 2004, Meiji University and York University later developed a bi-national Consortium. Queen’s has since become one of 13 Canadian and 15 Japanese universities to participate.
