Police arrest man for indecent exposure

Kingston Police arrested a man at approximately 3 p.m. on Nov. 7 who’s allegedly connected to at least five indecent exposure incidents reported near campus since June 30.

In each incident, the man was reportedly seen exposing himself to female students or masturbating in a red sports car.

“The vehicle was spotted near campus,” Campus Security Director David Patterson said, adding that Kingston Police made the arrest after receiving a phone tip from a witness.

All of the victims have been Asian females, Kingston Police reported.

The man will be charged with criminal harassment and indecent acts.

Kingston Police is asking anyone who has experienced a similar incident to report it at 613-549-4660 to Detective Jason Cahill (ext. 6233) or Detective Sean Bambrick (ext. 6171).

The suspect’s court date has yet to be set.

Debating Union grabs weekend win

The Queen’s Debating Union won the novice component in the Father Rogers Guindon Cup at the University of Ottawa last week. of the winning team were Ryan Tolusso, ArtSci ’12 and Anna White, Sci ’13. Debating Union president Robin McNamara, ArtSci ’10 said another Queen’s student, Christine Wadsworth, ArtSci ’10 was on the overall winning team. Her partner was from the University of Toronto.

The team attends nine to 12 tournaments a year culminating in a major competition in Turkey over the winter break. Of the 60 to 70 team , only eight attended the in Father Rogers Guindon competition.

McNamara said there are two components to the Debating Union.

“Within our campus we run meetings. We run practice rounds and seminars to allow people to speak better in public and learn about world issues,” he said. “We also have a competitive component.”
