Homecoming Arrests
Of the 19 partiers arrested on aberdeen street during the Saturday night of Homecoming weekend, 13 have been released without charges and six face criminal charges, Kingston Police media liaison Nadine Legare told the Journal.
There were 224 liquor-related charges, ranging from being in a public area with open alcohol to drinking under age. Forty-two people were charged for being intoxicated in a public place.
There were five bylaw infractions for loud noises, and one person was given a littering ticket.
Principal Karen Hitchcock said in a meeting of the Board of Trustees that none of those charged criminally were Queen’s students. The Kingston police said they were unable to confirm this because they don’t track that kind of information.

Goodridge Switches
Andrew Goodridge, ArtSci ’07, has switched the municipal riding in which he’s running for councillor from the King’s Town riding to Williamsville. He said he wanted to see resident and International Hockey Hall of Fame president Mark Potter win in King’s Town, a municipal ward that covers the city’s core northeast of the Ghetto. Goodridge said he thought running in Williamsville— a riding to the west of the Ghetto— was a better fit.
