Dr. Duncan Sinclair, a professor emeritus of physiology and a fellow in the School of Policy Studies, has been inducted into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame.
Sinclair was the first non-MD to serve as a Dean of Medicine and Vice Principal of Health Sciences in Canada. He’s also served as Vice Principal of Institutional Relations, Vice Principal of Services and Dean of Arts and Science at Queen’s. He currently teaches in the School of Policy Studies.
Sinclair is an international leader in health care reform and helped create a redefined health system in Ontario as head of the governance subcommittee of the Steering Committee for Review of the Public Hospitals Act in Ontario. He was also a member of the National Forum on Health, and was founding chair of Canada Health Infoway, an organization created to aid the development of a national capacity for health information management.
He also helped create North America’s first alternative funding program for academic medicine.
