PSAC 901 to hold strike mandate vote Feb. 14

PSAC 901 has announced they’re back at the bargaining table with Queen’s.

In light of bargaining efforts that began in November, PSAC will hold a strike mandate vote on Feb. 14, according to a press release sent to The Journal.

In preparation of the vote, PSAC will hold town halls open to all .

“The sessions primarily focused on next steps in the bargaining process, should Queen’s fail to engage meaningfully with 901’s proposals going forward,” the press release from PSAC 901 stated. 

“The Townhalls are an opportunity for 901 to ask questions, discuss the path forward and voice any concerns.”

PSAC 901 Vice-President (Research Assistants) Rohit Revi stated in the press release that have been highly ive of PSAC’s efforts. 

“So many have asked what they can do to help! They are eager for Queen’s to start taking their work and wellbeing seriously and resolved to reach a fair agreement,” Revi wrote. 

“​​In recent years, graduate student-workers have experienced increasing precarity due to a number of ongoing issues, including low funding packages and increased costs of living.”
