As voting closed Thursday night, Roshael Chellappah was elected next Residence Society (ResSoc) President.
Chellappah won 53.3 per cent of the vote over competitor Jared Fernyc, though just 9.7 per cent of eligible student voters cast their ballot in this election.

“Thank you to everyone that participated in the election, first of all, and to everybody that took part in each of our campaigns and helped out,” Chellappah said.
“I’m looking forward to next year. I’m looking forward to seeing how next year plays out.”
ResSoc will host the election for Vice President of Residence Affairs and Vice President of Judicial Affairs over the next couple of weeks.
