Queen’s Smith School of Business Master of Business istration (MBA) program scores Canada’s top spot again for career success.
The Smith School of Business MBA program ranked first in Canada by the Financial Times for graduate salary increase, return on investment, alumni network strength, and career services—for the fifth consecutive year. Smith placed 79th globally.
The Financial Times is a primarily business newspaper which includes yearly rankings of business schools and programs across the world. The rankings were released on Feb. 16 and assess factors such as career progress, diversity, research, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. The Smith School of Business fell 17 places from last year’s global MBA ranking, placing 62nd in the world but first in Canada.

“Being ranked number one in Canada for career services for the fifth consecutive year is a testament to our ongoing commitment to providing our students with the resources and guidance they need to thrive in their future careers,” Kerri Regan, director of the Full-time MBA and Master of International Business programs said in a statement to The Journal.
Regan said prospective students often turn to these rankings when deciding what business school to attend.
“These rankings serve as a benchmark, helping individuals evaluate the quality, impact and value of different MBA programs,” Regan said. “When considering where to invest in their education and future, these types of ranking results reflect the return on investment [ROI] of attending Smith Business.”
In a Feb. 18 news release, Executive Director of Smith’s Career Advancement Centre Karen Jackson-Cox spoke to the ion of the Centre in helping students through their MBA program and ensuring they’re well equipped to enter the student’s desired job market.
The Centre aims to students during their time at the School of Business by fostering connections for summer internships and employment after graduation.
In an interview with The Journal, Devin Clancy, Comm ’27, said he frequently uses these services to prepare for interviews and fill out job applications.
“The career services at Smith are excellent,” Clancy said, saying the staff who work there are ionate about helping students break into their desired industry post-grad.
Smith was one of only five Canadian programs on the 2025 world rankings list which included Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario, Desautels at McGill University, and Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia.
