Morrison selected as OUA East All-Star
Men’s hockey goalie Brady Morrison was recognized by the OUA as the best in his position in the East conference this season, selected as the goaltender for the OUA East First Team All Stars.
Morrison was in net for 11 of Queen’s 12 wins this year. Despite Queen’s being the lowest scoring team nationwide, he never let the Gaels fall more than three goals behind their opposition. During the course of the season, Morrison stopped 851 shots with a save percentage of .933.
He was the only hockey Gael to receive a national or provincial award this season.
Fastpitch player earns award
Fastpitch first baseman and pitcher Erin Mills was named as Queen’s Competitive Club Female Athlete of the Year Thursday night at the 13th Annual Competitive Clubs Banquet.
Mills has played fastpitch with Queen’s for the last six years, taking on the roles of financial officer and istrative master in addition to her positions on the diamond.
Baseball’s Fulton picks up trophy
Baseball’s first baseman Graham Fulton was chosen as the Competitive Club Athlete of the Year Thursday night at the 13th Annual Competitive Clubs Banquet.
Fulton was one of the baseball team’s most potent offensive weapons this season, achieving a batting average of .429 and leading the team in home runs and RBIs.
Fulton was also prolific off the diamond, often organizing and running practices and meetings during the season while maintaining an honours average.
